I recently stayed at a hotel in the center of town, right in the heart of the main pedestrianized street in sleepy Cognac. The location couldn't have been better, surrounded by shops and cafes, and within walking distance of the famous cognac centers like Hennessy, Martell, and Camus. The hotel itself had a lot of character and artistic charm, with beautifully decorated rooms and unique artwork throughout. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into the design, with individually designed rooms and their own art pieces. Despite the lack of air conditioning, which can be stuffy in the summer, the room was clean and comfortable, with an extra wide bed and good WiFi.

One aspect that could be improved was the breakfast. There were only a few pieces of burnt croissants, bland yogurt and cereal, and some fruits that were going bad.
